Located in the small picturesque village of Portmagee, gateway to Valentia Island and Skellig Rocks, Portmagee is a good example of today’s contemporary, yet traditionally styled modern hostels. The 2 self-catering cottage-style kitchens are stylish and fully equipped with all the modern utensils and equipment you need to prepare your own meals. There are 2 bright and sunny dining rooms. There is also a lounge with a TV, DVD player, Radio, Internet Access and Free WiFi. The hostel also has a garden and a car park. With comfortable inexpensive accommodation the hostel makes a great base from which to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. The village of Portmagee and its harbour were once a haven for smugglers and pirates. Today it is a fishing village, well known for its brightly painted houses, traditional pubs and quality restaurants, where fresh fish is served daily straight from the boats.
